Hans Machine Industries

Hans Machine Industries is out on Punchsar Road in the Sathwara Estate area of Morbi. This town is full of industry, and our workshop is right in the middle of all that activity. The big shed where we work has a thick concrete floor that’s usually stained with oil and covered in metal shavings. It’s a very practical space with big doors that we keep open to let some air in. Working with metal is hot and loud, especially with the welding torches and the grinders going all day. The Gujarat sun can make the workshop feel like an oven sometimes, so we drink a lot of tea and water. We are a small group of guys who have been handling machines for a long time. There is no sales department or fancy office here; we just have our tools and the experience of fixing things. Sometimes a custom machine part takes a long time to get right, and we end up staying late to finish it. We keep our records in simple paper ledgers and use the phone for most of our business. People around Morbi know we specialize in the equipment used in ceramic factories. It’s a very straightforward life of building and repairing heavy gear. When the day ends, we just clean up the worst of the mess and shut the gates until the next morning.
