If you ever find yourself in Soni Bazar, you might pass by us. We are on the Main Road, right across from the Mahadev Temple at Darbar Grah. It’s a very busy area, especially during festivals. The bells from the temple are something you get used to hearing all day long. It’s actually quite nice, though it can get loud when the crowds gather. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We deal with a lot of different items coming in and out. Because it’s the bazaar, there is always something happening outside our door. Sometimes it’s hard for the delivery trucks to get through the narrow parts of the street, so we have to do a lot of carrying by hand. The building is old, like most things in this part of town. We’ve got shelves lining every wall, filled with samples and records from years ago. My grandfather used to sit in the same spot where I sit now. We don't use any high-tech systems; we still write a lot of things down in ledgers. It feels more real that way. It’s a dusty, busy, and sometimes chaotic place, but it’s our place. People know us here. We don't need to put up big advertisements because word of mouth in Soni Bazar is enough. We just open up the shutters every morning and see what the day brings us.
