Metal Group Inc. is located at 37/F-14, right near Kala Piyada Chowk by the Sambhali Gate. It’s an area where people are used to the sound of hammers and the smell of grease. We’ve got a solid space here, though it isn't much to look at from the outside. The walls are stained and the floor is concrete because we deal with heavy stuff. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you walk in, you’re likely to see someone in overalls working on a piece of equipment or moving metal sheets around. It’s a noisy environment, and we usually have to shout a bit to be heard over the machines. We started this because we knew how to work with our hands and saw a need for it in this part of town. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady work. We open the shutters early in the morning and stay until the job is done. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. We don’t have a big corporate philosophy. We just take orders, do the work, and hope the machines don't break down on a busy day. It’s a practical way to make a living. The Sambhali Gate area is busy, but we’ve carved out our own little spot here over the years. We keep the tools sharp and the floors swept as best as we can.
