Aijaz Sons

Our family has been at 31-C/12 Seedhi Sarai for a long time. The shop, Aijaz Sons, is basically a part of the house now. My father started it, and then we all just grew up around the business. It’s not some big company with a board of directors or anything. It’s just us. We do our work in the front room mostly. Seedhi Sarai is a tight-knit place, and everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway. We handle a lot of different orders throughout the week. Sometimes it feels like there isn’t enough space for all the stock, but we manage. You’ll usually find one of the brothers sitting at the main desk near the door. We don’t have uniforms or anything like that. We just wear what’s comfortable for a long day of work. The street outside can get quite narrow, especially when delivery trucks come through at noon. We’ve thought about moving to a bigger place, but we like it here in this neighborhood. There is a lot of history in these walls. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things we’ve collected over the years. If you need something specific, you might have to wait a minute while we dig it out from the back of the store. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. We don’t bother with fancy slogans. We just try to be honest with people when they come in. That’s how we were taught to do things since we were kids.
