M. S. Sons Handicrafts

You have to go into Gali No. 6 in Asalatpura Bara Hata to find us. It is a narrow lane near the Chaman Wali Masjid. You can usually hear the prayers from the mosque while we are working. M. S. Sons Handicrafts has been in this spot for years. The workshop is small and tucked away. It’s full of the sound of metal being worked on or wood being carved. It’s a bit of a maze back here, and it gets quite dusty. We aren't a big company with many employees. It's just a few of us who have been doing this since we were young. We learned the trade from our elders. The work is hard on the hands and the back, but it's what we know. Most of the stuff we make goes out to the bigger markets, but the real work happens right here in this little gali. We don't have a fancy entrance. You just walk through the door and you're in the middle of everything. There are piles of materials everywhere and tools hanging on the walls. It’s not organized like a showroom, but we know where everything is. Some days the electricity goes out and we just sit outside for a bit. It’s just regular life for us. We do the best work we can with what we have. It is just about getting the pieces finished and ready.
