We are based at B-764 in Lajpat Nagar. Everyone knows this part of town is always crowded. Indart Exports is tucked away in one of the quieter lanes, though. We’ve been operating from this building for several years. It’s an old house that we converted into an office and packing area. The rooms are a bit small, but we make it work. We handle the export of different artisanal items. There’s always bubble wrap and tape lying around. We try to be careful with the packing because things can break easily. My sister helps with the accounts. She’s much better with the numbers than I am. We have a small team of three people who help with the sorting. It’s a lot of hands-on work. We don't have any big machinery. Just some scales and a lot of boxes. Lajpat Nagar is a great place because everything we need is nearby. If we run out of tape, the shop is just two minutes away. The traffic can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get the shipments out by noon. We don't do much advertising. Most of our clients have been with us for years. It’s a small, honest business. We just do our best to get things sent off correctly. It’s not a glamorous job but it keeps us busy and we like the people we work with every day.
