Started working out of Sarai Hussaini Begum Baradari Street quite a while back. It’s a busy spot, always something happening outside the doors. We mostly spend our days checking over the items we send out and making sure the paperwork is sorted. There’s no big fancy office here, just a few rooms where we keep everything organized. Sometimes the street gets so crowded it is hard to get a truck through, but we manage. My brother and a couple of guys help out with the packing. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. People often ask what we do exactly, and mostly it is just getting goods from one place to another across the borders. It takes a lot of phone calls and sitting around waiting for the logistics to line up. We do not really have a glossy brochure or anything. Usually, it is just us answering the phone and writing down orders in the register. The morning starts with tea and a look at what needs to go out by evening. If a shipment is late, we just stay a bit longer until it is done. It is not always easy, especially when the weather is hot and the power goes out, but we have got used to it. Just trying to keep the business going steadily without too much fuss. Sarai Hussaini is a good place to be if you want to stay busy.
