Globo Metals

Globo Metals is tucked away in the Barwalan area of Katghar, right behind where the old State Bank used to be. It is an older part of town, so the roads are a bit uneven and the buildings have a lot of character, or at least that is what I tell people when they cannot find us. We work with various types of metal, mostly raw materials that other workshops need. Our building is basically a large warehouse with a small corner partitioned off for a desk and a couple of chairs. It gets really hot in the afternoons, so we usually have a big industrial fan blowing, which makes it hard to hear the phone ring sometimes. We have a small crew of guys who help with the loading and unloading. They have been working in Katghar for years and know exactly how to handle the heavy stuff. We do not have a fancy showroom or anything like that. If you come by, you will probably see us in our work clothes, covered in a bit of soot or metal shavings. It is not the kind of place where you would wear a suit. We just try to keep our head down and get the orders out to the local factories that depend on us. There is no big secret to how we run things; we just show up early and stay until the work is finished for the day. (248 words)
