Glister Exports

Our place is tucked away inside the first gate at the Phatak, right near the Bari Masjid in Maqbara. It is a very busy area, so there is always the sound of people talking and rickshaws passing by outside our door. The office itself is quite old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it serves us well for our export work. We have boxes stacked up in almost every corner, which makes the space feel a bit small, especially when a new delivery arrives. Most of our days are spent checking over lists and making sure everything is packed tight for the long journeys. We have a small tea stall just a few steps away where we go whenever we need a break from the paperwork. The light inside is not very bright, so we have a few desk lamps that stay on all day long. It is a real working environment, with dust on the shelves and the smell of old paper in the air. We know all the other shopkeepers in the lane, and sometimes we have to wait for a cart to move before we can get our own goods out to the main road. It is a bit of a squeeze, but we have gotten used to the rhythm of this neighborhood over the years. We do not try to act like a big corporation; we are just local people doing our jobs.
