Gayatri Metal

Gayatri Metal is located down on Bhatti Street. If you find the Royal Photo Studio, you’re basically there. We are just a few doors down from them. It’s a typical street, always a bit dusty and full of people moving things around. We deal with various metal items and scraps every day. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved in this job. Our shop floor is usually covered in bits of copper or steel, and the sound of metal clanking is pretty constant throughout the afternoon. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a small wooden desk where we keep the ledger and handle the cash. It’s a family-run kind of vibe here. We’ve been in this location for years, and most of the other shop owners on Bhatti Street are our friends. We open up early because that’s when the deliveries usually arrive. It’s hard work, and your hands get dirty within five minutes of starting the shift. We don't spend much time on the computer; mostly it’s about weighing stuff and checking the quality of the material coming in. Sometimes it gets crowded in the shop when we have a big load, so we have to move things out onto the sidewalk for a bit until we can sort them. It’s just the way it is. Customers come in looking for specific parts or just wanting to sell what they’ve collected. We try to be fair and just keep the business moving along day by day.
