Falahe Daurain Inter College

Our college is situated right in the heart of Moradabad, at Kath Darwaja in Deewan Ka Bazar. If you are familiar with this area, you know it is a very busy place to be. The markets are right there on our doorstep, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving about. The college building itself fits right into the local scene. It is not a modern glass structure; it is a solid, older place that has been part of the bazaar for a long time now. We have students coming from all the nearby streets and alleys. They have to walk through the narrow lanes to get to their classes every morning. Inside the gates, it is a little bit calmer than out on the street, but you can still hear the city life through the windows. We have classrooms for the different grades, mostly with just the basics like blackboards and wooden desks. Since it is an inter college, we get to see the kids grow up from young teenagers into young adults. The staff room is usually full of tea cups and stacks of notebooks that need to be graded. We do not have a big playground, but the students always find some space to talk during their breaks. It has a very local feel here. Everyone knows everyone else’s family. We just provide a place for the local kids to study and finish their school years without making a big fuss about it. It’s been our home for a long time.
