Malekpur Farmer Producer Company Limited is based along the road that goes between Malekpur and Mahadevpura. We’re located at Thakor Somiben Valmaji’s place. It’s a straightforward setup. We don’t have any fancy office furniture, just what we need to get the work done. The road stays pretty busy with tractors and the occasional bus passing by. We spend a lot of time talking to the farmers who stop by on their way to the fields. Most of our work involves keeping track of what everyone is growing and helping out with the supplies. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s necessary for the village. We deal with the heat and the dust just like everyone else around here. Sometimes we sit outside and talk about the rain or the lack of it. We don’t have a website or any big advertisements. People just know where to find us. We try to keep things honest and simple. When the harvest comes, things get very busy and we’re often working late into the evening by the light of a few bulbs. It’s a small group of us running things. We know most of the families in Malekpur and Mahadevpura. We’re just trying to help the local farmers get their products to the right places without too much trouble. It’s hard work, but we’re used to it. Every day is a bit different depending on the season, so we just take it as it comes.
