The Purple Crayon Playschool

We've been at G 35 in G Block Shastri Nagar for a while now. The Purple Crayon Playschool is where we spend our mornings with the neighborhood kids. It's usually quite noisy around here, but that’s just how it is when you have little ones running around learning their ABCs and drawing on everything. We started this because there weren't many places nearby that felt like a real home for children during the day. Most of us living in Shastri Nagar know the building by now. We don't have fancy gadgets or anything, just plenty of crayons—mostly purple ones, obviously—and enough floor space for games. Some days are harder than others, especially when someone loses a shoe or doesn't want to nap, but we manage. The backyard has some play equipment that's seen better days, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We keep things pretty simple here. Parents drop them off early, and we just make sure they're fed, safe, and maybe learn a song or two before pickup time. It’s not a big corporate chain or anything like that. Just a small spot on G Block where we try to keep the kids busy while their folks are at work. We’ve had quite a few families come through over the years, and it's nice seeing the older siblings bring the younger ones in later on. It feels right. We don't do much advertising; the kids just keep coming through the door.
