Laxmi Music Center

Laxmi Music Center is our shop in New Govind Puri, which is part of the Kankar Khera area in Meerut. It is a typical Meerut neighborhood, which means it is pretty lively and there is always something going on nearby. The shop is on the ground level, and we have been here for quite some time now. Inside, it is mostly just some wooden shelves and a main counter where we sit. It is not one of those big, modern music stores you see in the shopping malls. It is more of a local spot where people come to chat as much as they do to buy anything. We have a few old instruments hanging up and some speakers that we use to test things out. The dust in Meerut can be quite a problem, so we spend a good amount of time every morning cleaning the glass cases and the instruments. Kankar Khera has its own vibe, and we feel like we are a real part of the neighborhood. We do not have any big marketing plans or a team of people. We just open up the shutters in the morning, sweep the front, and wait for the day to start. Sometimes it is very quiet, and other times it is packed with kids looking at the gear. We just try to be honest with people. It is a simple life running a music center in Govind Puri.
