We are set up on the first floor of Surya Towers on Sardar Patel Road. It’s a very busy part of town, so there is always a lot of traffic noise coming up from the street. Our office at number 105 is usually full of people and stacks of paperwork related to the granite trade. We deal with a lot of logistics, trying to coordinate between the quarries and the customers. Granite is a heavy business, even when you are just dealing with the administrative side of it. We have a few samples around the office so people can see the quality of the stone, but mostly we are focused on the operations. The days can be long when we are trying to track down a shipment or sort out a delivery issue. It’s not always smooth sailing, but we’ve been doing this long enough to know how to handle the bumps. We aren’t into big corporate speeches; we just want to get the job done right. People come in to discuss their projects, and we sit down with them to figure out the numbers. It’s a practical place to work. Sometimes we order food in when things are too busy to leave the desk. Sardar Patel Road is a good place to be, even if parking is a bit of a nightmare sometimes. We just keep our heads down and keep the business moving forward as best as we can.
