Nalanda Junior College

Nalanda Junior College is situated at Door No 2-3-125 on the Main Road in Narayankhed. This is part of the Medak district, and the pincode is 502286. Being on the main road means we see everything that goes on in town. It’s a simple setup, really. We have our classrooms and an office area where we sit and handle the admissions or talk to the local folks. The college is a place where students from around Narayankhed and nearby villages come to spend their day learning. It’s not a polished or fancy campus; it’s more about the function of the space. We have benches that have seen better days and a blackboard in every room. The staff here are mostly from around this area, so we all know each other and the families around here pretty well. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything like that written on the walls. We just show up in the morning, open the gates, and get to work. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just have to deal with it, which is just how life is in this part of the state. We focus on the basics—making sure there is chalk, that the students are attending, and that the exams are organized correctly. It is a very grounded way of running things. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time now, and we are just a part of the daily life.
