Deccan College Of Education

Deccan College Of Education is located over at 4-1-2/A in Sangapur, which is part of Gajwel in the Medak district. It’s a quiet area mostly, away from the main heavy traffic you might find elsewhere. We spend our days training people who want to become teachers. The building is simple and we try to keep the hallways clean. A lot of students come here from the surrounding villages. They take the bus or ride their bikes in every morning. It’s interesting to see how many people really want to get into teaching these days. We spend a lot of time on paperwork and making sure everyone has their notes for the day. The staff room usually has a pot of tea going and someone is always checking the schedule. Sometimes the rain makes the road to Sangapur a bit muddy, but everyone still makes it in. We have a small library where students sit when they have a free hour. It’s not a giant campus with fountains or anything like that. It is just a place to study and learn the basics of the job. Most of us here have lived in Medak for a long time. We know the families and the local way of doing things. It’s a decent place to work and the students generally listen well. We just take it one semester at a time and try to keep things running. Each year we see new faces and it keeps the place feeling alive even if the building is old.
