About Anjana Engineering Works – Engineering in Medak
The shop at 25/34 has been here for years, right near the Mandal Office. Most days it is just the sound of the lathe running and the smell of cut iron. It gets pretty hot inside during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the work. People bring in all sorts of broken parts, sometimes things from old tractors or pieces of gates that need a bit of welding. The paperwork is all done by hand in a big ledger because that is how we have always managed it. We don’t have fancy electronics or anything like that. Just a few solid machines and a couple of us who know how to use them.
Sometimes the tea guy comes by twice a day, and that is when we take a small break. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. It is just the way an engineering shop stays. If someone needs a hole drilled exactly right or a shaft turned down, they come find us. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around. We just like fixing things and making sure they fit together like they should. Sometimes an order takes a bit longer if a machine acts up, but we always tell the customer the truth about it. Being near the Mandal Office means there is always people moving around outside, but inside we just focus on the metal in front of us. It is honest work and it keeps us busy.
