About Vrindavan Public School – Education in Mathura
You can find our school out in the Dhorera area of Vrindavan. It’s a bit away from the main temple crowds, which makes it a slightly quieter place for a school. We’ve been here for some time now, providing a place for the local children to come and learn their ABCs and math. The building is a modest one, painted in colors that have faded a bit over the years from the sun. We have a small playground where the kids can run around, though it’s mostly just dirt and some grass here and there. Inside, the classrooms are basic with old-style desks and chairs. We spend our mornings doing assembly and then move into the lessons for the day. The teachers are people from the nearby areas who have a lot of patience for the noisy classes. We don't have any high-tech equipment, just the usual books, chalk, and some maps on the wall. Sometimes a stray monkey might wander onto the roof, which causes a bit of a distraction for the students, but that’s just life in Vrindavan for you. We just try to make sure every child gets some attention and finishes their homework. It’s a simple, honest life we lead here, just running a school for the neighborhood kids without any grand plans or fancy talk. It’s just what we do every day. There is always a lot of cleaning to do, but we get by fine.
