About Bhaktivedanta Gurukula & Intertational School – Education in Mathura
Our place is on Bhaktivedanta Marg in Vrindavan. People often call it the Gurukula, and we’ve been here long enough that the walls show some wear and tear. Running Bhaktivedanta Gurukula & Intertational School involves a lot of daily chores that people don’t always see. We spend time making sure the fans work and the benches are clean. Vrindavan is a busy town, especially with all the visitors coming to the temples, but our school is tucked away enough to stay focused. The rooms are basic, with wooden desks and blackboards. We don’t go for anything too flashy. The staff members usually arrive early to beat the crowd on the main road. We spend our time talking to students and going through the textbooks. Sometimes the monkeys around here get a bit curious and hang around the windows, which is just part of living in this area. We have a small staff room where we drink tea and plan out the week. It’s a very grounded way of life. We don't use much fancy technology; we prefer the old-fashioned way of teaching with books and pens. The stone floors stay cool even when it’s hot outside, which is a relief in the summer months. It’s a quiet life here on Bhaktivedanta Marg, focused on the simple task of running a school for the local community and keeping the daily schedule moving along as it should.
