Big Munch

We are set up at the Coconut Inn, which is right at the 99 km mark on the Delhi Mathura Road in Kosi Kalan. It’s a long stretch of road and people are usually tired when they pull in. We see a lot of trucks and cars stopping by for a break. Our little spot is just for getting a quick snack or something to eat while you stretch your legs. The air out here can get quite hot in the summer, and we spend a lot of time making sure the drinks are cold. We aren't a big operation. Usually, it's just one or two of us behind the counter handling the orders. We don’t have a fancy menu or anything. It’s mostly just stuff people like to eat when they are traveling. The kitchen is small and we have to stay organized so we don't trip over each other. Sometimes the deliveries for our supplies arrive late and we have to make do with what we have on the shelves. It’s a simple life out here on the highway. We’ve seen all sorts of weather, from heavy rain to the burning sun. People come in, eat their food, and then they are back on the road heading toward Delhi or Mathura. We just keep things running the best we can. It’s not complicated work, just long hours and a lot of talking to strangers passing through.
