We are located at Bhavishaya Nilaya, right near the Kavoor Post Office in Mangalore. Dealing in steel and cement means our days are filled with heavy bags and long rods. It is a very physical business. We set up shop here because it is a good spot in Kavoor for people to reach us. Mangalore weather can be unpredictable with the rain, so we spend a lot of time making sure the cement stays dry under the sheds. We don't have a big corporate office; we just operate out of this local spot. Most of our customers are builders or locals who are doing some repairs on their own. We know many of them by name because they have been coming to us for years. We aren't interested in being a giant company; we just want to keep the yard running and supply the materials people need. The trucks come and go, dropping off loads of TMT bars or bags of cement. We do the counting and the loading ourselves most of the time. It is a bit of a gritty job, getting your hands dirty and dealing with the weight of the materials. But it is good to see the houses being built around the neighborhood with the stuff we sold. We keep things straightforward and honest, just like our neighbors near the post office do. It is just steady, daily work for us.
