Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School

If you head down Nagarkarnool Road in Jadcherla, you will find our school standing there. It is a fairly large place compared to some of the others in Mahabubnagar, and we have quite a bit of ground to cover. Being a Gurukul, the day starts quite early here. You can hear the morning routines beginning while the sun is still coming up over the trees. The campus is spread out, so there is a lot of walking between the different sections and the living quarters. We have a lot of students who stay with us, so it isn't just a place for classes; it is where they live. This means the dining hall is always busy and there is always someone cleaning or fixing something in the dorms. The atmosphere is a bit different than a day school because there is a sense of everyone being together all the time. We spend a lot of time on the daily schedule—waking up, studying, eating, and chores. The trees around the property give some nice shade, which is a relief when the sun gets strong out here in Jadcherla. It is a lot of responsibility looking after so many kids around the clock, but the staff is used to the long hours. We don't have fancy gadgets in every room, but the basics are all there. It is a place of discipline and routine, where the days feel long but the years go by fast.
