Mudavath Laxmi

I am Mudavath Laxmi and I stay at house number 6-35 in Yellur village. We are located in the Kollapur Mandal area. Life here is very simple and tied to the land. I started this work because I wanted to do something of my own in my village. Most of the people in Yellur know me and my family. I spend a lot of my time working on the daily chores and managing my small business. It’s not a big company with many offices. It’s just me working out of my home. I don’t use complicated machines or fancy technology. I prefer doing things by hand or with simple tools. Sometimes it’s hard work, but I don't mind it. The weather in Kollapur can get very hot, so I usually do most of my heavy work in the early morning or late evening. I like talking to the people who come by. We share stories about our families and the village news. It feels good to be part of a community where everyone helps each other out. I don't have a big marketing plan. Word of mouth is how most people find out about what I do. I try to be honest and do a good job so people keep coming back. It’s a quiet life, but it’s mine. I’m happy to be here in Yellur doing what I know best.
