Tresbeau Tea Manufacturers Pvt. Ltd. is based at 4/42 on Theri Road in Madurai. Even though the name sounds a bit formal, we’re just a bunch of people working in a warehouse-style building. Madurai is always humming with energy. Theri Road can get quite congested, especially when the big trucks are trying to turn. We spend our hours looking at tea samples and writing down numbers. The office part of the building is small and mostly filled with samples and old folders. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and see us working. The ceiling is high, which helps with the heat, but it’s still pretty warm in the afternoons. We’ve got a routine that hasn't changed much in years. Someone makes tea for everyone around 11 o’clock. We talk about the local news or the weather while we drink it. It’s a practical environment. We focus on the machines and the packaging. There’s always a lot of noise from the sealing machines. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a magazine. It’s just a working factory where we make sure the tea is bagged up right. We don't have a marketing team telling us what to say. We just know how to handle tea and that’s what we do every day on Theri Road. Most of us have been here for a long time now.
