Taisty Cheers

Taisty Cheers is over at No 102 Prem Nivas Hotel on West Perumal Mesthri Street. Being right in Madurai City, specifically opposite the old Thangam Theatre, means there is always something going on right outside our door. The street is 625001 and it stays busy until very late at night. Our place is inside the hotel, so we see a lot of people coming and going with their suitcases. It is not a very large space, so it can get a bit cramped when it is full of people. We have a few fans going all the time to deal with the Madurai heat, though they make a clicking sound that we have just gotten used to over the months. The staff knows most of the other shopkeepers on West Perumal Mesthri Street. We often stand out front for a minute when it is slow just to watch the buses go by. It is a lot of routine work, checking the inventory and making sure the counters are clean. We do not have a big sign with flashing lights, just our name and the address. Sometimes tourists get lost looking for the theatre and end up asking us for directions. We have been here long enough that the walls feel like home to us. It is a straightforward business. We do not have any big corporate plans. We just want to make sure people get what they need. (250 words)
