Sugar Mill & Co

We spend most of our days at the mill over in Asiriyar Nagar. Kethandapatti is a quiet place usually, but things get busy when the trucks start rolling in. We've been at 52 for a while now. It’s not a fancy setup at all. There’s dust on the floor and the machines make a lot of noise. People around here know us because we’ve been part of the landscape for years. My father used to say the smell of the mill stays in your clothes forever. He was right about that. We just handle the sugar and try to keep things moving. Sometimes the power goes out or a belt breaks, and we have to fix it ourselves right there on the spot. It isn't always easy work, especially when the heat picks up in the afternoon. We mostly talk to local farmers and people who need a steady supply for their shops. Most mornings start with a cup of tea and looking at the logs from the night before. We don't have a big office or anything. Just a desk in the corner with a lot of papers and a phone that rings too much. If you walk by Asiriyar Nagar, you can't miss the gate. It's just how we live. We don't think much about big goals, we just try to get the bags loaded and the orders filled before the sun goes down. It’s what we do every day.
