Kumaran Travels

Our place is at No 20 on North Chitrai Street. If you know Madurai, you know this street is always full of life. We’ve been here for a while, just running our travel desk and helping people figure out their journeys. It’s a small office, nothing too big or flashy. We mostly just talk to people who walk in off the street. Since we are right in the heart of the city, we get all sorts of visitors. Some are locals we’ve known for years, and others are just passing through. We handle car bookings and bus tickets without making a big fuss about it. The street outside is usually crowded with people heading toward the temple, so there is always something to see from our doorway. We start early most days and stay open until the evening rush dies down. It’s a lot of sitting at the desk, making calls, and writing down names in the ledger. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the routes well. The building itself is older, but it serves us well enough for what we do. People come to us when they need a reliable way to get to the next town or just a ride to the station. We just give them the prices and the times and let them decide. It’s a plain way of doing business, but it’s how we’ve always done it. We just sit here and wait for whoever needs a ride.
