Kg Tea & Coffee Shop

We sit right on the Bye Pass Road at 42C in Ponmeni. It’s a location that sees a lot of traffic. Cars and trucks are constantly zooming by heading elsewhere. Kg Tea & Coffee Shop is a simple spot where we keep things straightforward. We have some jars on the counter and the smell of tea and coffee is always hanging in the air. The building is a bit old, and the front door squeaks every time someone opens it. We haven’t bothered to fix it because it lets us know when a customer is there. It gets quite dusty being so close to the main road, so we are always wiping things down. We have a few benches for people to sit on, but they aren’t very soft. It’s more of a place where people stop for a quick bit of business and then move on. We don’t have a big menu or anything complicated. Just the basics that we’ve always had. The afternoon sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard, so we pull down the shade around 2 o'clock. We know the regulars by their voices mostly. It’s a busy life being on the bypass, but we like the energy of it. There’s always something to look at out the window while we wait for the next person to come in. It isn't a quiet place, but it's our place and we are here every day until late.
