Kamarasu Store

If you go down Balamurugan Kovil Street in Puthu Vilangudi, you will find our little shop. It is Kamarasu Store. We are near Nethaji Road in the Vadipatti area of Madurai. The pin code here is 625218. It is a quiet enough spot compared to the main city. I have lived around here for a long time. Running a shop like this means you know everyone’s name after a while. We sell the usual things people need daily. It isn't a big supermarket or anything like that. Just a small place on the street. Sometimes the stock arrives late or we run out of something popular. That's just how it goes with a small business. We open early in the morning and stay until late. My family helps out when they can. Madurai can get very hot, so the afternoons are usually slow. We sit and wait for the evening rush. Puthu Vilangudi is a nice community to be in. We don't do any big advertising or anything. People just know where we are. It’s a simple life. We keep the place tidy and try to be helpful. Most days are the same, but that is fine with me. We are just happy to be part of the street. It’s been our way of life for years now. We have seen kids grow up and start their own families while we stayed right here on Balamurugan Kovil Street.
