Our agency is on the second floor of No 38, North Veli Street, right in the Simmakkal area near the Canara Bank. It's a bit of a climb up the stairs, but once you are here, it's a bit quieter than the street below. We have been operating from this spot for quite a few years now. Most of our work involves booking tickets and organizing travel for people around Madurai. We aren't a big company with hundreds of employees. It's just a few of us handling the desk and the phones. The office has a lot of old files and some posters of local sights. We spend most of our time talking to customers about their plans and trying to find the best routes for them. Simmakkal is a very central part of the city, so it’s easy for people to find us when they are out doing their shopping or bank work. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It's just a simple travel desk where you can get your tickets without any trouble. Sometimes we stay late when the bookings are heavy, but that’s just how it goes. We like the neighborhood and the people who come in. It’s a decent way to make a living and we’ve gotten to know a lot of the regulars over time. If the fan is making a noise, we just ignore it and keep working through the day's list.
