Ashbrick Technology

You can find us in Balua Madhubani, right near Suri High School. It’s a busy little area, especially in the mornings when all the students are heading to class. We’ve got the yard here where we make and keep the bricks. It’s called Ashbrick Technology, but really it’s just a lot of hard work and staying on top of the machines. The machines can be temperamental sometimes, especially when it’s raining or too humid. We spend a lot of time out in the yard, checking on the batches and seeing how they are setting. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, your clothes are always covered in something by the end of the shift. People from around the neighborhood stop by sometimes just to ask what we’re doing or to see if we have any spare bricks they can buy for a small project at home. We try to keep the piles neat, but it’s hard when you’re constantly moving things around to make room for new stuff. The area near the high school is usually pretty lively, which is nice because it doesn't feel so isolated. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The seasons change the way the bricks dry, so we’re always keeping an eye on the sky. It’s just us doing our thing day in and day out, making sure we have enough stock piled up for whoever might need it for their next wall or house.
