United Brothers Engg Works

United Brothers Engg Works is right here on G.T. Road in Khanna, just opposite the Markfed building. It gets pretty loud outside with all the trucks and cars zooming by on National Highway 01, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. This shop is where we spend most of our daylight hours, surrounded by tools and metal parts. Some days are busier than others, especially when a lot of local farmers or transporters stop by needing something fixed right away. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. It’s mostly just us working with our hands, dealing with whatever comes through the door. The dust from the road settles on everything, so we spend a bit of time every morning just cleaning off the benches before we can really start. People know us around here because we’ve been in this spot for a long time. It’s not a complicated place. We have our routine, starting early and staying until the work is done. Sometimes we sit outside for a tea break and watch the traffic go toward Ludhiana or Ambala. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoons, so we try to keep the fans going. It is just a regular engineering workshop where things get repaired and fabricated. We don't use big words to describe what we do; we just get on with it and hope the machines keep running smooth for everyone who relies on them.
