We’ve been running R.S. Matharoo & Sons out of Janta Nagar for quite a long time now. Our unit is at 2273/2 in the industrial suburb, and it’s a place where things actually get built. The air is always a bit heavy with the smell of machine oil and metal shavings. It’s a family-run spot, so there’s a lot of history in these walls, even if they look a bit grey and worn out. We have several old machines that have been with us for decades, and they still run better than some of the newer stuff we’ve tried. My sons and I are usually on the floor most of the day, making sure the orders are moving along. It’s a loud environment with the grinding and the cutting going on, so we don't do much talking while the power is on. Janta Nagar is a tight squeeze for the delivery trucks, and we often have to help guide them into the narrow lane at our address. We don't have a fancy reception area; if you want to talk to us, you usually have to come right into the workshop and find us by the lathes. We have a small corner with a table where we keep the blueprints and some old chai cups. It’s honest work, and we don't plan on changing how we do things anytime soon. Our hands are usually greasy by noon, but that’s just part of the life we’ve built here over the years.
