It’s a bit of a tight squeeze getting back into this part of the neighborhood, but we’ve been here long enough that everyone knows the way. The mohalla is always full of activity, with neighbors chatting and kids playing nearby while we are inside working on engineering parts. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we put things. We do a lot of small-scale engineering work, mostly fixing parts for local machines or making custom bits when someone brings in a sketch on a piece of scrap paper. It’s the kind of place where you can smell the grease and the cooling fluid from the drills. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. Most people just stand around the machines and talk while we work. The lighting isn't the best, but we know every inch of the floor by heart. It’s a family-style environment, even if we aren't all related. We take our time with the work because rushing usually leads to mistakes, and we don't like doing things twice. It’s just a steady, quiet shop in the middle of a busy mohalla. We do our engineering, we talk to the neighbors, and we close up when the sun goes down. That’s about all there is to it.
