Raju Glass & Aluminium Works

Raju Glass & Aluminium Works is located right near the Gurdwara Singhsabha in Civil Lines. We have been at shop number 914/21 for quite some time. It is just by Deep Nagar Chowk. The shop is usually full of glass sheets and aluminium frames waiting to be cut or moved. It gets quite dusty with all the work going on. We spend most of our time measuring things and getting orders ready for people in the local area. It isn't a quiet place because of the cutting machines. We have a small crew here. Some of us have been doing this for years. You can see the shop from the main road near the chowk. We handle a lot of different glass jobs, from windows to smaller repairs that neighbors bring in. The space is a bit cramped because of all the materials we have to store. Sometimes we are out on sites, but someone is usually at the shop in Civil Lines. Working with aluminium is heavy work, so we are often tired by the end of the day. We don't have a big office or anything, just the workspace and a place to sit. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but being near the Gurdwara makes it easy to find us. We just keep our heads down and get the glass work finished as it comes in. The floor is usually covered in scrap pieces that we have to sweep up later.
