Rajiv Engineering Co. is based in Industrial Area-A. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s the kind of place where you’re likely to get grease on your hands just by walking through the door. Our shop is full of lathes, tools, and metal parts that we’re working on. It’s noisy because of the machines, but we like it that way; it means we’re busy. We don’t have a fancy website or a bunch of salespeople. Most of our work comes from people who know that we can fix things or make the parts they need. The floors are concrete and usually have a few oil stains, but that’s just how an engineering shop should look. We have a small corner where we keep the blueprints and the ledger. Sometimes we sit there and have a cup of tea when the power goes out. Industrial Area-A is a tough place, but it’s full of people who know how to build things. We fit right in with the other workshops around us. We don’t talk much about our history; we just focus on the job that’s on the bench today. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy and the bills paid. We just take one order at a time and try not to make too many mistakes while we are grinding or cutting.
