Paramjeet Singh

My name is Paramjeet Singh and my place is in Shimlapuri on M G Road, number 1531/16. It’s more of a workshop than anything else. I’ve got tools and spare parts everywhere. It might look like a mess to someone else, but I know exactly where everything is. I’ve been working on this road for many years. M G Road is always busy, especially on the weekends. I usually have the door open to let some air in, but then all the dust from the road comes in too. You can't win. I do most of the work myself. Sometimes a nephew comes by to help with the heavy lifting. People bring me things to fix and I tell them to come back in a few days. I don't like to rush. I’d rather do it right the first time. I have an old wooden chair where I sit when there’s no work. I watch the people go by. It’s interesting to see how the neighborhood has changed over the years. Buildings going up, shops changing names. But I’m still here at 1531/16. I don't have a big fancy office. Just this room and my tools. It’s enough for me to make a living and keep going. I usually wrap things up when it starts to get dark outside. No big plans, just fixing things for the neighbors.
