Om Power Systems

Our place, Om Power Systems, is situated over in Focal Point. If you know the area, you know it’s always humming with something going on. We deal with power stuff, so there are always wires, batteries, and different types of equipment lying around on the benches. It’s not the tidiest shop in the world, but we know where everything is. Mostly we are busy fixing things or putting systems together for people who can’t afford to have their lights go off. The air always smells a bit like solder and metal. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. People from around the neighborhood stop by when they have a problem with their backup power. We usually just sit on the plastic chairs near the desk and talk through what’s wrong. It’s a practical kind of business. We don't have any shiny brochures or a big sales team. The Focal Point location is good for us because all the parts we need are usually just a short walk away. Sometimes it gets a bit hectic when a lot of people have issues at the same time after a storm. We just try to get through the pile of work one thing at a time. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. There is always a new problem to solve with someone's electrical setup.
