Nk Engineering Works

Nk Engineering Works is tucked away at No-857 in Muradpura. We are on Street No-3, just off the main Gill Road. It’s a typical workshop environment, so expect to hear the sound of metal being worked and machines humming if you come by. The air usually smells a bit like oil and burnt metal, which is standard for an engineering shop. We have been in this spot for a good while, and the walls are covered in tools and old calendars. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, as there are always metal shavings on the floor, but we try to keep it organized enough to find what we need. Most of the work involves fixing things or making parts that people can't find elsewhere. We spend a lot of time bent over lathes or welding at the back. The street outside is narrow, so it can get a bit tight when a big delivery comes in. We usually have grease on our clothes by noon, and our lunches are often eaten quickly between jobs. People from all over the Gill Road area bring us their broken parts. We don’t have a fancy reception area or a secretary. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't currently running a machine. It’s basic, hard work, but it feels good to fix something that someone else might just throw away. That’s how we’ve always done it here in Muradpura.
