Our place is at C-86, Phase V Focal Point. It's a standard industrial shed like many others in this part of town, but it’s where we spend most of our waking hours. We go by Marshal Mahcines (P) Ltd. If you walk inside, you’ll see rows of equipment and a lot of steel. We aren't interested in being fancy or looking important. We care more about whether a machine is running smooth or if a part is cut to the right size. The air in the shop usually smells like oil and metal, which is something you get used to after the first week of working here. We have some older guys who have been here since the beginning and some newer faces learning the trade. It’s a mix of experience and just getting the job done. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to write glossy reports for us. We just handle the orders as they come in. Focal Point is a rough and tumble kind of place, but it's where the real work happens in this city. We've got our routine down pretty well. Morning tea, checking the production schedule, and making sure the trucks get loaded on time. It’s a lot of physical work and a bit of paperwork to keep things legal and organized. We like it this way because it’s simple and we always know where we stand with our tasks.
