Kabir Foundry Works

Kabir Foundry Works is located right in the Gurudwara Building, specifically units 5 and 6, on G.T. Road. Being near Manju Cinema means everyone knows the general area, so we don't have to give directions too often. The foundry is a hot place, especially when we’re doing a pour. There is a lot of soot and the smell of hot metal is something you just live with. We’ve been in this building for years, and the walls show the age of the business. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving molds around and making sure the furnaces are at the right temperature. We don't have air conditioning or fancy chairs; we have workbenches and heavy tools. The G.T. Road is always loud with trucks passing by, but inside the foundry, we have our own noise to deal with. Most of the guys working here have been doing this for a long time, so they don’t need much instruction. We just get the orders, prepare the sand molds, and get to casting. It’s honest, sweaty work that leaves you tired at the end of the day. We don’t put on any airs about being a big corporation. We’re just a local foundry in an old building, doing the same kind of work we’ve always done for the people who need parts made from iron or steel. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit to get some fresh air.
