Lovely Lotus Play School

Lovely Lotus Play School is set up at Plot No 105 B in BRS Nagar, Ludhiana. It is a residential part of the city, so it is a bit quieter than the main markets or the industrial areas. Our play school is basically a converted house, which we think makes it feel a bit more comfortable for the little ones who are coming here for the first time. We have colorful mats covering the floors and lots of plastic bins filled with blocks, dolls, and other toys. The backyard has a small slide and a swing set that we try to keep in good shape for the kids. It is a lot of hard work looking after toddlers all day long. There is always someone who needs their shoelaces tied or a snack container opened. We do not follow any fancy high-end teaching philosophy here. We just let them play and try to teach them a few basic things like the alphabet and their numbers when they are actually sitting still. The parents are mostly our neighbors or people living just a couple of streets away. They drop the kids off in the morning and we usually chat for a few minutes about how they are doing. We keep a simple diary for each child to note down what they ate or if they took a nap. The rooms are usually a mess by the evening.
