Vishal Nagar Extension is where we spend our days at Brats N Cuties. Our spot is at Plot No: 31, and if you live in Ludhiana, you know this area has grown quite a bit lately. It’s a typical scene every morning. Parents are in a rush, kids are sometimes clinging to the gate, and we are just trying to get everyone inside so we can start the day. The building isn't huge, but we make use of every bit of space we have. There are blocks all over the floor half the time. We try to keep things organized, but with thirty little ones running around, that doesn’t last very long. The walls are covered in finger paintings and some of them are a bit smudged. We have those small plastic chairs that are surprisingly sturdy for how light they are. My back usually aches by noon from bending over so much to talk to the kids. We don't have any big speeches to give about what we do. We just look after the kids while their parents are at work. Sometimes we have to deal with a scraped knee or a lost water bottle. It’s just part of the routine. The sun hits the front of the building in the afternoon, making it quite bright. We usually spend the last hour just waiting for the parents to show up so we can finally tidy up and head home to our own families.
