K.B. Machine Tools

We have been operating out of 428, Industrial Area-B for quite a few years now. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but it gets the job done for the folks around here. We deal with machine tools day in and day out. Usually, the morning starts with clearing off the workbenches and checking which orders need to go out first. Being in Industrial Area-B means we have neighbors doing similar stuff, so there is always a lot of clanking and truck traffic nearby. We mostly handle basic metalwork and parts for other local businesses. It gets pretty hot in the summer inside the shed, but we have a couple of fans that help a bit. The floor stays pretty messy with metal scraps despite us sweeping every evening. I remember when we first moved in, the roof leaked a bit, but we patched that up years ago. Most of the guys working here live nearby, so they just walk or bike in. We don't really have a big office or a receptionist. If the door is open, someone is usually inside working a lathe or a drill press. We keep our tools organized as best as we can, though things tend to wander off. It’s just how it is when you’re busy. We focus on getting the dimensions right so the parts actually fit when they leave the shop. The landlord is a nice guy who lets us use the extra space outside if we have a really big order to finish up.
