K D Singh & Sons

We operate out of Miller Ganj on the GT Road. It is an old part of the city and our shop reflects that quite a bit. The name K D Singh & Sons has been on the front for years, and we have kept it that way even as things around us changed. We deal with all sorts of industrial and motor parts, the kind of things that are greasy and heavy. Inside, the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling and you need a ladder to reach the old stock at the top. Miller Ganj is always crowded, so getting a truck in to unload new stock is always a bit of a struggle. We usually have to do it early in the morning before the traffic gets too bad. The floor is old stone and it has seen a lot of wear over the decades. We don't really have a big office, just a wooden desk where we keep the ledger and the phone. Most of our day is spent looking through catalogs or climbing those ladders to find a specific part number. We have a tea guy who comes by twice a day, and that is usually the highlight of the afternoon. The atmosphere is quiet inside compared to the roar of the GT Road just outside the door. It is a family thing, and we just keep doing what we know how to do without making much fuss about it.
