Hukam Chand Sood & Sons

The shop has been sitting here in Khanna near Nehru Park for quite some time now. It’s a family thing, my sons are involved in the daily bits and pieces of the work. People usually find us easily because of the park nearby, which is a nice landmark if you are coming from the main road. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that, just a regular place where we get things done. Most days start early, usually before the sun gets too high, and we stay until the light fades. My father started this whole thing and we just kept it going because it’s what we know how to do. There isn't much to say about us that isn't obvious when you walk through the door. We handle the orders and talk to the folks who stop by. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit slow, especially when it rains hard around here, but we manage. You’ll mostly see one of the sons behind the counter while I’m out handling the back-end stuff. We don't really bother with big advertisements or anything. Most of our work comes from people just knowing our name over the years. It’s a quiet way to live, really. We just keep our heads down and focus on the day-to-day tasks. If you are ever near Nehru Park, you’ve probably seen the sign hanging out front, though it’s a bit faded now.
