H C Jain Sales [India] sits right opposite the Jagraon Bridge. We are right next to the Jmd Goverdhan Mall on G T Road. It is a very loud part of town because of all the vehicles coming off the bridge and the people heading to the mall. We see a lot of foot traffic and cars zooming by all day long. The office is always a bit dusty because of the G T Road construction and traffic, but that’s just life in this part of the city. We spend our time talking to people who come in looking for things, and the phones don't really stop ringing once the shutters go up. Being near the mall means there’s always somewhere to grab a quick tea or a snack, but we usually stay stuck in the shop. We’ve got piles of ledgers and stock lists everywhere. It’s not a fancy setup. We have some old fans that have been humming for years and desks that have seen better days. It feels like home to us, though. We know the other shopkeepers around here too. Sometimes we help each other out when someone needs a hand with a delivery or something. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just open up, do the sales, talk to the transporters, and go home when the sun sets. It is a simple way of life for us and we just keep it moving one day at a time.
