G.S. Bearing Co.

G.S. Bearing Co. is situated right on G.T. Road in the Miller Ganj area. We are located just behind the fire brigade station, so we hear the sirens whenever they head out. It’s a very industrial part of town with a lot of noise and heavy vehicles moving around. Our shop is filled with metal bearings of all sizes. They come in heavy crates that we have to stack up against the walls. The air smells like machine oil and metal. We spend a lot of time cleaning the parts and checking the sizes for people who come in. It’s a dirty job, and our clothes usually end up with black marks by the end of the shift. The floor is concrete and can get very cold in the winter. We have a small counter where we talk to customers, and there’s always a notebook nearby to jot down measurements. It’s a busy spot because G.T. Road is a major route. We don't have any fancy lighting or displays. It’s just shelves and shelves of steel. Sometimes it’s hard to hear each other over the traffic outside. We’ve been in this location for a long time and the shop has a lot of character, even if it’s a bit rough around the edges. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day until it is time to go home.
