General Store Shop

Being located at 3628 Street Number 1 in Haibowal Kalan is busy because we are right opposite Amar Sweets Shop. People come for their jalebis or samosas over there and then they remember they need soap or a bag of flour from us. Ludhiana is always full of energy, especially in this part of town. The morning starts with unloading bread and eggs before the sun is even fully up. Our shop is quite packed with stuff from the floor to the ceiling. It can get a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at the same time. We have all the regular things like toothbrushes, matchboxes, and snacks for the school kids. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun but everyone knows where we are. Dealing with the distributors is a daily task, especially when the truck blocks the narrow street for a few minutes. The neighbors are nice, and we share some tea sometimes when the shop is not crowded. We do not use any computer for the bills, just a simple notebook and a pen to keep track of things. The floor is old cement and it shows the wear from all the feet walking through over the years. It is just a normal store for normal people. We do not try to be anything else or act like we are bigger than we are.
